He is very athletic - loves to swim and fetch anything, but especially tennis balls! He’s also quite the dock diver! But if he’s not swimming after a ball or jumping off the dock, then he’s totally content to just entertain himself and swim in circles splashing with his paw and chomping and the bubbles and water waves! LOL! If he can't find anyone to play ball with him, that's ok, he's just as happy to toss it up in the air to himself, catch it or chase after it and then plop down on top of it and roll around! He wasn’t much of a toy dog (except for balls!) until Hope and Sitka arrived, but now he loves carrying around his stuffed toys … nothing gives me greater joy than watching him trot across the yard with a big purple stuffed bunny in his mouth!
He is a total love bug and loves affection (BIG mama’s boy!) and loves to get in his ‘GoForARide’ for exciting adventures ~ especially if it’s going to work with Mama! I’m fortunate to work in a very dog friendly office, so he has been a permanent fixture there for several years and our clients adore him and some even just stop by to get some special lovin' from him. We call him our office emotional support dog. There have been many times that a client has come in and been upset about one thing or another and Deshka will wander out of my office and I’ll eventually find him in the lobby or in someone's office with his head resting on their knee just happy being petted. He's very smart but also quite sensitive and has a very goofy happy-go-lucky personality and can be very exuberant! He is your A-typical Golden Retriever - very friendly and loving! He is our first born and our pick of the litter from our very first litter so he does and always will hold special place in my heart for many years to come!
