Timber was our pick of the litter from our Willow x Potter 2021 puppies. There are just certain puppies that I am immediately drawn to and he was definitely one of them and I think he chose us too. He was was born with a little black spot on the right side of his cheek, which is called a cellular somatic mutation. It's totally harmless, and is just a little genetic blip that flips from light to dark fur that occurs individually as the fetus develops when a cell will mutate from the E recessive for normal golden coloring to E recessive for black pigment. The earlier in the cell division/development cycle, the larger the spots. His is pretty small and only on his cheek. It absolutely does not affect the genes of the dog and they will not pass it onto their offspring so it's not heredity ... but I happen to think it's pretty amazing and truly makes him one of a kind!
He is an absolute character and has a BIG personality. He is quite the handful at his teenage stage and very full of himself and even though there are times where he drives me nutty, he makes me laugh constantly and he never takes anything to heart! He's a total lover and seeks out his snuggles and has this look he gives me that I call his "sweet boy look" and I know at that moment he's looking for love. He has a huge play drive and LOVES his toys ... along with everyone else's toys too. What ever toy one of the other dogs might have of course that's the one he must have at that exact moment ... and then he gleefully runs away with it in mouth wanting to be chased!! He's very athletic and has maneuvers that I've never seen any other dog do, he definitely knows where his feet and body are at all times. He has quite a bit of energy,, but I'm also chalking that up to being a youngster (at the time of writing this) and is a bit of a show off ... but knows how to take it down few notches too when he needs to. He's a total lovely gentlemen on the leash and so calm and quite with the puppies. To say that he loves water, might just be the understatement of the year. This dog LOVES and I mean LOOOOOOOOOVES water. Warm water, cool water, muddy water, ice cold frozen water, doesn't matter he's in it. It makes keeping a white dog awfully hard to keep clean, lol!
He is a total mama's boy (which melts my heart!) and loves to go with me to work. He has amazing eye contact and will just stare at me sometimes just waiting for me to talk to him, give him a cue or just some love. He's got BIG beautiful dark eyes and gorgeous black pigmentation. Beautiful cream coat and an amazing blocky head. He is perfectly built and has a beautiful floating trot ... that he loves to strut about the yard saying "look at me!". He has a big bark and is protective of his people and home, but as soon as he knows you're ok and supposed to be there, then he's all about the love. I am so incredibly lucky that this boy chose us to be his family and so excited to see what he brings to our breeding program as one of our stud dogs.
At this time, we are not offering any outside breedings from Timber but will be looking at this as a possibility in the future, so feel free to reach out to discuss future options.
Don't miss our Friday night Facebook Live events! After the puppies are born, we will host a Facebook Live event every Friday at 6:00 pm Alaska Standard Time for everyone to tune in and see the puppies!
