There are a bunch of great training classes & programs to choose from, but anything in person (which is SO IMPORTANT for your pup during this critical learning time frame) cancels your puppy out from joining until they are around 16 weeks old and fully vaccinated.
That is why we have started our Birchwood Puppy Classes for all puppies from our current litters to sign up for. The classes will bridge the gap between 9 weeks old to 14 weeks old, will be held once a week for an hour on Saturdays from noon to 1 pm (and if need be we will do a second class on Sundays from 1pm - 2pm) here at our facility where you will be picking up your puppy.
This is not a ‘training’ class per say, although we will definitely go over and work on some of the basic early training stuff (sit, down, come, name recognition, etc.) plus play lots of interactive games and most importantly let them get the MUCH needed socialization with other puppies and new humans that they typically won’t be getting until that 16 week old mark. We might even throw in a field trip outing for one of the classes (wagons and strollers available from us to use for these outings)!
Advanced registration is required, each class is limited to 6-8 puppies and if we get a bigger response, I will add another class/time slot. Cost for the 6 week class is $150.00, payment due in full at time of registration.
We are working on developing additional training classes that will extend beyond the Puppy Class but at this time the only class we currently offer is the Puppy Class.
